On September 17, 1971, the Division of Children's and Educational Publications of the Quimantú National Publishing Company published the first issue of the biweekly magazine Onda (Wave). In its 53 issues, Onda magazine targeted a mainly youth segment through sections and articles that collected topics of national and international interest. Since issue #42 the magazine's size was slightly changed and the magazine was retitled Nueva Onda. The magazine ceased to exist in 1973. (memoriachilena)
