One Two Testing

 UK

One Two Testing was IPC's offering into the market that E&MM dominated – new wave pop music with an electronic production slant. It ... seemed to run into problems towards the end of it's run, first merging with ZigZag, and then being folded into International Musician. In total 38 issues published 1982-1986. (mu:zines)

The Best Guitar Breaks In The World
By Dave Sinclair, pp 36-37, 39

Adrian Belew: ZOOT ALLURES
"A side of Frank's playing you don't hear very often, not typical, but a lovely chord progression, and I love the feedback and the overtones that the Stratocaster's giving out. It has just the right amount of space – the notes hold out for a long time, and there aren't many of them. Usually Frank's using fast lines and lots of note clusters. This is different. When I began working with Frank this was on his current album, so I listened to it to get more familiar with what he was doing then, and I just loved this track."

The Best Producers In The World
By Tony Bacon, pp 52-54

Hugh Padgham: DANCING FOOL
"I don't like a lot of Frank Zappa records, but on this one I love the vocal production and what I think is a marimba, maybe it's a xylophone. It's very well put together, I would have been proud to have done this."
