The San Diego Union
The San Diego Union, which was established in 1968,
held the distinction of being the oldest newspaper in Southern
California that maintained its name without any alterations.
In 1992, it underwent a merger with the San Diego Evening
Tribune, resulting in the newspaper being renamed The
San Diego Union-Tribune, and it has been publishing continuously
ever since.
The Mothers of Invention brought their attack on all things phony to San Diego Saturday night and left 3,000 San Diegans laughing uproariously โ if somewhat nervously โ at their satirical spoofs of American life. (read more)
