This very fine hardcover limited edition book arrived in two editions:

1. Premium edition: Limited edition hardback with dust jacket, in handmade presentation tray case with exclusive 1988 “Doodads” memorabilia pack.
   Individually numbered and signed by the author. 100 copies.
2. Deluxe edition: Limited edition hardback with slipcase, individually numbered and signed by the author. 400 copies.

In 1988, Frank Zappa toured with a twelve-piece band that had rehearsed for months, learned a repertoire of over 100 songs and played an entirely different set each night. It is why, in Zappa's own words, it was "the best band you never heard in your life" - a reference to West Coast American audiences who never got the chance to see this particular touring ensemble due to the disharmony between Zappa's "clonemeister" Scott Thunes and nine of the other band members.

'Zappa The Hard Way' documents that last tour, which deteriorated as the tour progressed through America and on to Europe.

As far as I know, when a paperback version is issued (hopefully before the end of the year: the text will be as per the hardback, but it is likely there will be fewer photos), it should be available via all of the usual online retailers worldwide. Until then, the only way to get my book (the collectors' editions) is direct from the publisher (Wymer UK) or G&S Music.
